International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach
1 min read

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Allianz, a global insurance group, says the insurer will join the “Worldwide Olympic Partner” (TOP) program from year 2021 to year 2028.

We should recall that In July last year, a Nigerian insurer, Ensure Insurance, was acquired by the Allianz Group and rebranded to Allianz Nigeria in the last month of the year.

Allianz will collaborate with the IOC to create innovative insurance solutions that will support the Olympic Movement, including the organising committees of the games. The aim is to provide those insurance solutions to the National Olympic Committees around the world and their teams and athletes.

However, we should add that the main aim of this partnership is to use the power of sports to connect with new audiences via digital channels, including the Olympic Channel and engaging with the next generation in their preferred way, while giving Allianz the opportunity to cover their policy needs.

It was made known that Allianz will also become a Worldwide Paralympic Partner from 2021 as part of the agreement as a result of its support to international Paralympic Committee since 2006. IOC President, Thomas Bach expressed joy over its, cooperation with Allianz adding that the new partnership demonstrates the global appeal and strength of the Olympic Movement.
