CBN Governor Confident Of Tomato ‘Revolution’

40 Secs Read

The Central Bank of Nigeria is obviously working hard to bring about a huge revolution in tomatoes production in Nigeria.

In recent times, the country's apex bank has been taking various steps to see to the production of more rice in the country - including the agriculture intervention programme - and positive results are getting close to us already.

The CBN is already assessing large interests and investments for the produce by stakeholders.

For a start, Offcials of the Central Bank of Nigeria have given tomatoes farmers good reasons to smile.

They assured the farmers of all the needed assistance with a formal take off of Anchor Borrowers Programme for tomato production.

The initiative took off with the Dangote Factory, where the CBN Governor , Mr Godwin Emefiele, was confident that the revolution in the tomatoes industry will be fruitful as that of the rice industry.

Also speaking of the development, the Minister of Agriculture , Mr Audu Ogbe , is confident that the Central Bank will take steps that will open doors for more success for farmers.

According to him, the apex bank is committed to seeing to the success of this, and they will come up with protective policies - such as the addition of tomato in the import prohibition list - just to see to the success of the revolution.
