The Registrar and Chief Executive of CITN , Adefisayo Awogbade , told the press recently in Lagos that the institute can really deal with the menace if members are involved in the full practice of taxation in the country.

Adefisayo, who made these known during an Evening of Tribute in honour of the third President of CITN, Late Jacob Okele , is of the opinion that CITN can defeat quackery from the taxation industry without much issues, as the institute has been given the charter to regulate tax practices and administration in Nigeria.

According to him, the institute also has procedures in disciplining defaulting members, and if the government will provide necessary support and assistance, the industry will get back to it normal shape.

Nevertheless, Adefisayo explained that the The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria cannot embark on bringing members before a panel if they have not been reported in the first place, thereby encouraging Nigerians to play their part in seeing to the success of their aim.
