A group known as The Good Governance Initiative has shown their displeasure over the epileptic power supply in the country.

In a bid to push for a lasting solution to the menace, GGI has called for a new National Energy Policy.

Mr Festus Uzoma Mbisiogu, the president of the group, lamented on the unpleasant condition of the power sector in Nigeria, adding that it is playing a role in the high rate of unemployment in the country.

According to the president, the power sector won't attract the right investors if the country failed to put in place a new policy.

He also prompted citizens of the country to begin holding those interested in ruling the nation to task , particularly in ensuring they provide a permanent solution to the country's electricity issue, hence will be sent packing.

They also hailed the government for executing its renewable energy policy with the connection of over 400 shops in Lagos with solar power .

Nevertheless, the group want the government to take steps into defining the roles that is required for petroleum , gas , coal , and others.

They also want the government to define rules of engagement for both indigenous participation and for foreign investors in the sector, to enable the progress of things revolving around it.
